Physical condition of imprisoned Gonabadi Dervish and a fellow of Majzooban Noor website, Kasra Nouri who has suffered from severe back pain since several months ago, due to authorities’ neglect reported dire.
According to Majzooban’s reporter, regarding Adel-Abad prison infirmary’s diagnosis, he is now suffering from spinal disc, sciatic nerve pain and respiratory disease so he must be taken to hospital for receiving the treatments he requires soon.
This prisoner of conscience (at the age of 23) has not had these problems or something like that before and his disc disease of the spinal lumbar which causes severe back pains over the past few months, reportedly is due to being under ill treatment during his long prison term in Adel-Abad prison.
Kasra Nouri has been deteriorating quite a lot lately, can barely walk now, in addition to his serious pain in the back. However the authorities are refusing to allow him to be transferred to the hospital or have medical furlough.
It is notable that, unfortunately, physical health problems of imprisoned Dervishes has always been involved with interference by the judicial and security authorities. As jailed Gonabadi Dervish, Ebrahim Bahrami is another victims of authorities interference with his medical treatment. He has been suffering from internal bleeding in prison since one month ago and due to medical negligence, without a previous history of heart failure, now he is suffering from heart disease and judicial-security authorities still refuse to transfer him to hospital for emergency treatment.
It is worth mentioning; on 17th of Dey ( Jan 7, 2014) 26 political prisoners held in ward 350 of Evin prison, in a letter addressed to Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani warned over the physical condition of ill prisoners. In the letter, they pointed out as the victims’ families have suffered a double injustice because of medical negligence toward prisoners of conscience and political prisoners who have an emergency situation, including Kasra Nouri, Ebrahim Bahrami, Hamid Moradi and Mostafa Daneshjou. 26 political prisoners also warned about the occurrence of adverse consequences on prisoners
Ebrat section is a ward of prisoners of conscience in Shiraz’s Adel-Abad prison with limited space that barely reaches 50 meters, but in spite of all these problem, 19 new prisoners charged with fraud have been sent to this ward within the last month. Despite the fact that holding 30 prisoners in this small space is absolutely inhumane.
