The court hearing of four jailed Gonabadi Dervishes at Adel-Abad prison, which was supposed to happen yesterday evening on 2nd of Mehr 1392 (Sep 24, 2013) was delayed.

According to Majzooban Noor, the trial session of four imprisoned Gonabadi Dervishes, Mohsen Esmaeeli, Seyed Ebrahim Bahrami, Mohammad Ali Sadeghi and Mohammad Ali Dehghan that was supposed to be taking place in Branch 2 of the Revolutionary Court in Shiraz due to the absence of the trial Judge, Mr. Yazdanian was not held. The court hearing was postponed until 20th of Aban (11 November).
It is notable that, following the transfer of four Gonabadi Dervishes to the Revolutionary Court, a large number of Dervishes with shaved heads in solidarity with the Dervish prisoners gathered in front of the Revolutionary Court in Shiraz. But unfortunately Dervishes and the families of them failed to meet with imprisoned Dervishes. The 4 Dervishes were held in handcuffs and leg shackles and guarded under tight security!
Gonabadi Dervishes, Mohsen Esmaeeli, Seyed Ebrahim Bahrami, Mohammad Ali Sadeghi and Mohammad Ali Dehghan residents of Kavar town in Fars province who were charged with “the formation of terrorist group against the regime,” “participating in the gatherings with the aim of overthrowing the Islamic Republic,” “Moharebeh (“enmity against the God”) and “carrying illegal weapons” have been in temporary detention for five months.
These Gonabadi Dervishes who were arrested on 10 Ordibehesht 1392 (April 30 2013) have been put under physical and psychological pressure and torture in Shiraz Intelligence Detention Centre, known as No.100 (Plaque 100/Pelak sad). Their family members photos were misused to threaten them in order to create fear and panic and make prisoners confess. They have been treated harshly, insulted, threatened with being hanged and even their beliefs and great masters of Nematollahi Gonabadi order have been insulted by prison officials. All these ill-treatment and violence have led to serious problems such as stomach bleeding, back pain, kidney pain and even neurological disorders that bother one Dervish, Mohsen Esmaeeli.
It is mentioning that, recently the jailed Dervishes have come under increasing pressure, including the attack on Ebrat Ward of Shiraz’s Adel-Abad prison by intelligence unit officers and shaving off Dervishes’ beards and whiskers by force and violence, being deprived of regular human contact; phone calls and face-to-face visits with loved ones. According to a report (1 Mehr/Sep 23) by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), an informed source, who asked not to be named, said, “The prison authorities have told inmates implicitly that, the phones will be turned off until the trial is held for four Gonabadi Dervishes.” However, the prison authorities in response to the Dervishes’ families have said the problem is due to technical failure and is not linked to Dervishes’ trial.
