The families of Gonabadi dervishes’s lawyers who have been under detention almost 18 months, have no news about them for 26 days and their follow up has been inconclusive.
According to Majzooban Noor website, Seven Gonabadi dervishes’s lawyers and Majzooban Noor’s managers (Messrs. Hamid Reza Moradi Sarvestani, Amir Eslami, Mostafa Daneshjou, Farshid Yadollahi, Afshin Karampour, Omid Behroozi and Reza Entesari) because of refusing to participate in court due to illegal process hearing, under order from judge Salavati, have been sent to solitary confinement in Evin prison since 26 days ago.
Thursday, Bahman 19 1391( Feb 7, 2013), Mrs. “Maryam Shirini” the wife of jailed Gonabadi dervishes’s lawyer Amir Eslami said in an interview with Farin Asemi, a correspondent for Radio Farda said:
•It seems that noone is answerable.
We are not aware of their status at about 26 days that they have been sent to solitary confinement in Ward 209 of Evin prison.
Yesterday and today we went to follow up, but no answer was given to us. Even though we went to another places, which resulted into no consequence!
Why are they forbidden to visit?
•The dervishes lawyers refused to attend the court session because the legal procedure were not met by the authorities; a court that neither their lawyers were allowed to talk to their clients nor would the court permit the lawyers to attend for dependence; they are lawyer and attorneys themselves and cannot break the law, and for this reason they were sentenced to solitary confinement in Ward 209 of Evin prison.
What is authorities response when you and the other families of Dervish prisoners protest to this situation?
•When we go to the Revolutionary prosecutor’s office, the judge says that is not related to us.
Wherever we go, we will be referred to Judge Salavati, but when we go before the judge Salavati, he does not accept us at all.
He even refused to accept our lawyer yesterday and after I protested, security forces insulted and threw me out of court.
You and the families of lawyer Gonabadi dervishes, have written a letter to Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei. What have you mentioned in this letter?
•We write about a number of attorneys who were imprisoned while try to defend the clients for their rights… who are Dervishes and also lawyers of other dervishes to defend the rights of their fellow coterie dervishes for the distraction of their worship-places and also their rights of equality…about 17 months imprisonment without a proper court session… …about the violations taken place in the process of their cases that were followed illegally…
We have requested Mr Khamenei to pay attention to this issue that Gonabadi dervishes’s lawyers are absolutely guiltless and have done nothing against national security.
