Dervish Rights Activist, Alireza Roushan Entered Evin Prison To Serve 1-Year Sentence

 

 

Gonabadi dervish poet and journalist at Shargh Newspaper, Mr.Ali Reza Roushan started serving a one-year prison term in Evin.

According to Majzooban reporter, this morning on 27th Aban 1391 ( Nov 17, 2012 ) he went to Evin prison to serve his sentence on charges of “gathering and colluding to disturb national security” (Article 610 of the Islamic Penal Code).

It should be noted that, he has been sentenced to one year imprisonment and four years of suspended jail term after being convicted of charges including ” conspiracy to disturb the social and national security” in Branch 26 of Tehran’s Revolutionary Court presided by Judge “PirAbbasi” on last Tir (July) and Branch 54 of the Tehran Appellate Court upheld the ruling.

It is important to say that, he is accused of this charge due to his cooperation with the Majzooban Noor website (Nematollahi Gonabadi Order News Site).

Ali Reza Roushan were arrested by intelligence forces along with Gonabadi dervishes’s lawyers and Majzooban Noor website’s managers in Shahrivar 1390 (September 2011) in Tehran and he was released on bail after enduring more than one month behind bars in solitary confinement in Ward 209 of Evin prison.
