Rasoul Hoveyda, non-political and non-Dervish, who has gone on hunger strike to support the demands of the Dervish prisoners, was called into the Evin warden’s office.
According to Majzooban Noor, today morning, 24 Shahrivar (Sept 15) Rasoul Hoveyda who is being held in the financial section 8 of Evin prison (Mehriyeh) was summoned to Evin warden’s office at a meeting with the presence of the head, the deputy warden of Evin Prison and the commander of the special unit for protection of prisons in Tehran province, regarding the jailed Gonabadi Dervishes on Hunger Strike. Rasoul Hoveyda was threatened with transfer to solitary confinement and Judicial deal. At this meeting, the head of Evin prison by referring to the destruction of Gonabadi Dervishes worship-places (Hosseiniyeh), called the Gonabadi dervishes’ place of worship “Shariat Hosseiniye” n the city of Qom, as ‘Zarar Mosque’ which must be destroyed. He also called Dervishes as the enemies of the regime and told Mr. Hoveyda: ” If you continue to support Dervishes, you will face with the Revolutionary Court and Ministry of Information.” Then, In response, Mr.Hoveyda recited a Hadith from Holy Prophet :
«کلکم راع وکلکم مسؤول عن رعیته»
Means:
“Muslims are responsible for each other,
be they the rulers or the ruled.”
And also said that, going on hunger strike and supporting Dervishes is his personal choice. He added: ” Dervishes are just like my brothers who had not committed any crime other than defending the rights of oppressed Dervishes. The real criminals are those who have issued heavy sentences against them, those who annoy Dervishes and destroyed their places of worship.”
Finally he said in response to prison officials’ threats: ” whatever you want to do, do it without delay.”
It should be noted that, yesterday Mr. Javad Momeni, Evin Prison’s Warden went to ward 8 and called 3 jailed Dervishes in this ward, Mostafa Daneshjou, Reza Entesari and Mostafa Abdi, threatened them to transfer to solitary confinement.
It is pertinent to say that, nine lawyers and rights activists of Dervishes in prisons of Evin and Nezam in Tehran and Shiraz have gone on a mass hunger strike demanding to end to the violation of the rights of Dervishes. They also call for an end “to enmity with the followers of mysticism.”
