Ahmad Ronaghi Maleki, the father of jailed blogger Hossein Ronaghi Maleki, has written to the Tehran Prosecutor calling for the release of his “ailing son.”

The Kaleme website reports that in a letter to Abbas Jafari Dowlaatabadi, Ronaghi Maleki says that his application for the release of his son on medical grounds has been dismissed without even being reviewed by the judge, and he urges the Tehran Prosecutor to release his son in view of his declining health.

Hossein Ronaghi Maleki, an Iranian blogger, was arrested in December of 2009 and held in solitary for 300 days, according to his family.

He has been sentenced to 15 years in jail. In August of 2011, after several hunger strikes, he was released on bail after 32 months in jail. He was arrested again in the course of participating in the independent rescue efforts during the Azerbaijan earthquake.
