Shiraz’s Adel-Abad prison chief reportedly refused to grant jailed Gonabadi Dervish, Mohsen Esmaeeli, leave to visit his mother’s grave even for a few hours which is a cause for his mental illness due to his grief over mother’s death.
The mother of Mohsen Esmaeeli died in a terrible auto accident on 15 Mordad 1392 ( August, 6, 2013). Her death was coinciding with the trial of her son and three other imprisoned Dervishes in Kavar town. She died in a car crash on her way to visit her son in the court.
After that, Mohsen Esmaeeli wrote a letter to Shiraz’s Adel-Abad prison chief requesting a short furlough but due to judicial and political bodies pressure on the prisoners of conscience, he is unconstitutionally denied his right to visit to his mother’s grave. He is denied his legal rights just because of what security officials call it “creating tension in the city of Kavar”.
According to Majzooban Noor, prison authorities also prevented Mohsen Esmaeeli to attend his mother’s funeral service and even his request to attend the funeral for just a few hours, was rejected.
Gonabadi Dervish, Mohsen Esmaeeli was arrested on 10 Ordibehesht 1392 (April 30 2013), has been put under physical and psychological pressure and torture in Shiraz Intelligence Detention Centre, known as No.100 (Plaque 100/Pelak sad) for more than 1 month and now is still being held in Shiraz’s Adel-Abad prison in a ward known as “Ebrat”.
