Here are some sayings of the Imam (pbuh):
A person asked Imam Redha (p): “who are the best of the servants?” He replied: “Those who get happy when they perform a good deed & whenever they do a bad and evil work, they ask forgiveness from Allah. And whenever they are given any benediction (boon) they thank (for it) Allah. And while they get angry, they overlook it.”
This world is a prison for a momin and a paradise for the unbeliever.
True faith means: Oral acknowledgement, heart-felt knowledge and the good practice.
Patience and resignation are considered as the worthiest devotions.
Be modest before your friends and be prudent while encountering an enemy. Be pleasant with everyone.
The oppressors will finally be punished.
To use scent is a manner of the holy Prophet (p). Cleanliness is characteristic of prophets.
One ought to see his guests off to the gate.
Keep aloof from avarice and envy. These two qualities have already destroyed the peoples gone by.
The generous are the masters of the people in this world, while the pious are their chiefs on doomsday.
Gifts cast out hatred from the hearts.
He who tries to keep himself immaculate for forty days, Allah will let the waves of wisdom flow from his heart to his tongue.
Giving alms repels the certain catastrophe.
Keeping other’s secrets, patience in hardships and tolerance towards others are all signs of faith
Faith has four pillars: Trusting and relying upon Allah, and contentment and pleasure with the divine will, and submittance to the ordain and ordinance of Allah, and delegation and turning over (the affairs) to Allah. i-e (total submission and resignment to Allah).
Behave with the friend humbly and with the enemy carefully and the general people, with smiling and blooming face.
Brief Sayings of Imam (A.S.)
1. A man who takes pain and labors for himself and his children is like some one who fights a holy war (Jihad).
2. Whenever you take some ones name, always take it with respect.
3. Keep yourself clean, since cleanliness is the manner of Prophets.
4. Worst of the people is the one, whose existence is of no use to the people.
5. The one who commits dishonesty with a Muslim is not one of us.
Worship does not lie in copious prayer and fasting, but in the amount of contemplation in the works of Allah.
The best gift we could give to our Holy imam (AS) is to try to emulate his conduct and improve our Akhlaq, as our dearest Imam has shown exemplary character, generosity and tolerance.
The fragrance of flowers spreads only in the direction of the wind. But the goodness of a person spreads in all directions!
Live amongst people in such a manner that if you die they weep over you and if you are alive they crave for your company.
