Two-Year Prison Sentence Confirmed for Gonabadi Dervish, Ali Moazzami

Two-year prison term for Gonabadi Dervish, Ali Moazzami was upheld by appeals court with no changes.
According to Majzooban Noor, Ali Moazzami who has been sentenced to two years’ imprisonment by the Branch 15 of Tehran Revolutionary Court presided over by judge Abolqasem Salavati on charges of “gathering and colluding against national security” (Islamic Penal Code, Article 610 ), after requesting an appeal, the Branch 54 of the Revolutionary Court presided over by judge Movahedi upheld again a two-year sentence for him.
Ali Moazzami was arrested along with more than 15 other lawyers and managers of Majzooban Noor website ( Nematollahi Gonabadi Order News Website) in Shahrivar 1390 (September 2011) in Tehran and he was released on bail after enduring more than one month behind bars in solitary confinement in Ward 209 of Evin prison.
After confirming the sentence, he has received a summons by phone from the office of implementation of sentences and since the summons does not contain any legal identifiers, so he refused to go there. Then he was cautioned and was told through his lawyer that an arrest warrant will be issued for him soon.
It is notable that, Gonabadi Dervish, Nosrat Tabasi who was sentenced to six months imprisonment and four years and six months of suspended jail term on the same charge, has been summoned to carry out his sentence too. Also recently another Gonabadi Dervish, Mehran Rahbari was sentenced to 2 years of imprisonment by Branch 15 of the Revolutionary Court and has been going through the appeals process in his case .
