Imprisoned Dervish Made a Phone Call from Jail after 10 Days of Unawareness

KAVAR

Yesterday on 21 Ordibehesht (May 11), Mohammad Ali Dehghan, Gonabadi Dervish and resident of Kavar town, made contact with his family after ten days of awareness.

According to Majzooban Noor, Mohammad Ali Dehghan who was arrested along with two other Gonabadi Dervishes, Mohammad Ali Sadeghi and Mohsen Esmaeeli by security agents and Plain-clothes at their homes on 10 Ordibehesht 1392 (April 30, 2013) has contacted his family by phone after ten days.
But there is no news about the situation of two other detained Gonabadi Dervishes yet.
The three Gonabadi Dervishes after being interrogated, were transferred to Adel Abad prison no. 2 ( Shiraz’s Nezam prison, under the supervision of Ministry of Information). According to their families, after their transfer to Shiraz’s Nezam prison, they have been denied legal visits and has not been allowed to have any contact with them. Also, another Gonabadi Dervish, Ebrahim Bahrami resident of Kavar county in Fars Province who was arrested in Shahreza town last week, was taken to the same prison.
The families of these jailed Dervishes are still not aware of the charges against them and so far their efforts have been inconclusive.
It is remarkable that, new wave of arrests and harassment on Gonabadi Dervishes which has begun by plain-clothes and security forces since middle of September 2011 ( Shahrivar 1390), has still continued with unprecedented intensity so that, in the second half of 1390 and first half of 1391 more than 100 Gonabadi Dervishes in the city of Kavar, arrested, beaten, and without receiving written summons have been tried.
